For me, it is as easy as saying, "I write because I like it." I used to feel like I needed to justify it -- to make more of it than something I do just because I enjoy it. But I've been doing it for a while now and am comfortable acknowledging I write because I enjoy it --

It is putting enough of the pieces together so they resemble the picture on the box or staring at the board and determining the best position for that Knight. Like completing a jigsaw puzzle or engaging in a game of chess, writing is a welcomed challenge to me -- an envigorating way to pass the time.

My poetry has appeared in the inaugural issue of the Asian American Writer's Workshop (AAWW) literary journal, In the Heart, and in Nuyorasian, an anthology of Asian American writers. Through the AAWW, I have had the opportunity to read my work in a variety of venues, facilitate several creative writing workshops, and organize readings.

I write two personal blogs, Cranialgunk.org and K2Twelve.com, and am a contributor to Ricedaddies.com, a group parenting blog authored by Asian American fathers.

With the tagline, "Saving the World Through Nonsense," the Cranial Gunk blog is where I review books and movies, reflect on pop culture, and philosophize about life in general.

On the K2Twelve blog, the focus is education: How people learn, What makes a good school? A good teacher? etc. Its tagline is "Sometimes you should color outside the lines."
